Candy & Coconut Wrap is a traditional Hong Kong street food that has gradually become harder to find over the years. Crispy sugar scallion candy is wrapped inside a thin crepe and topped with generous amounts of crushed peanuts and shredded coconut, creating a wonderfully sweet and satisfying treat.
Despite the fact that the peanuts and coconut flakes usually ended up all over my clothes, it remains one of the strongest food memories from my childhood and one that I shared with my parents. To this day, it is still a comfort food that carries the feeling of home.
