Wanderer Handmade is a storytelling handmade brand founded in Hong Kong in 2014 and now
based in England.

We believe that every handmade piece carries a story — a memory, a moment, or a feeling worth holding onto. Through handmade craftsmanship, we create pieces
that celebrate meaningful experiences and the connections we make along the way.

To us, handmade creations are more than just products. They are companions to life's journeys, carrying warmth, memories, and stories that continue long
after they are made.

BORING BUT WORTH READING ╴OUR JOURNEY

The name "Wanderer" reflects a journey that began when I left Hong Kong to study abroad alone in Lancashire, England. Since then, every place visited, every experience gained, and every memory made has found its way into my handmade creations.

Founded in Hong Kong in 2014 and now based in England, Wanderer Handmade has evolved through different crafts, materials, and inspirations over the years. Each chapter reflects a stage of life, shaped by the people I have met, the places I have explored, and the stories I have collected along the way.

While the medium may change with time, the heart behind every piece remains the same: preserving stories through handmade craftsmanship.

LEATHER STUDIO, 2015

Believe it or not, Wanderer Handmade
began with leathercraft.

Fresh out of university and working a full-time office job, I spent nearly every evening creating leather
goods at my desk after work. Handmade had always been more than a hobby to me —
it was where my passion truly belonged.

Many late nights were spent cutting, stitching, and crafting, occasionally accompanied by complaints from
the neighbours about the noise. Yet those nights only confirmed what I already knew: I wanted to build a life around creating.

So, i took a leap of faith, left my corporate job behind, and opened my own leathercraft studio in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong. For the next several years, my days were filled with designing products, teaching workshops, and creating pieces that found homes with people across Hong Kong and beyond.

GOODBYE, NOT GOODBYE, 2022

Eight years passed in what felt like the blink of an eye.

As life entered a new chapter filled with the challenges and changes of the pandemic, marriage, motherhood, and relocation, i made the decision to close my studio and step away from my leathercraft business.

My final creation was a piece titled "Goodbye Hong Kong Ema" — a farewell to a city that had shaped me, and a message of hope for those beginning a new journey of their own.

It wasn't truly goodbye, but rather the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.

BACK TO WHERE IT ALL BEGAN, 2023

Perhaps it was fate that brought me back to England — the very place that inspired the name "Wanderer"
years earlier.

Settling into a new country and rebuilding life from the ground up took time. Yet throughout that process, I found myself drawn back to handmade creations once again.

This time, however, it was through crochet — a craft I had loved since childhood.

What began as a familiar comfort gradually became a new creative path, reconnecting me with the joy of
making and storytelling in a completely different form.

NEW CHAPTER, 2025

If every handmade piece carries a story, then becoming a parent gave those stories even greater
meaning.

Raising a child abroad inspired me to revisit the memories, traditions, and cultural stories that
shaped my own childhood in Hong Kong. Through crochet, i began creating pieces
that celebrate those experiences while preserving them for the next generation.

What started as a personal way of sharing my heritage with my child unexpectedly resonated with Hongkongers around the world.

Today, Wanderer Handmade continues to tell stories through handmade creations — connecting memories,
cultures, and journeys, one stitch at a time.
